LATROBE TASMANIA - where the blend of heritage and hospitality sets us apart

Chocolate Winterfest is held annually in Latrobe, a town in northern Tasmania, Australia on the Mersey River. It is 8 km south-east of Devonport on the Bass Highway.

Gilbert Street 2023

Bass Strait is the stretch of water that separates our beautiful island of Tasmania from the rest of Australia. This allows the traveller to arrive at your destination here in Tasmania's North West.

Spirit of Tasmania I and II offer the option of overnight or day sailings between Geelong and Devonport seven days a week, year round, with additional services in peak periods. This allows you to also bring your vehicle with you but you need to book early especially if over 2.1m or towing.

For those choosing to travel by air, there are multiple options.

Devonport Airport is the nearest airport to Latrobe, only a 10-minute drive away.  Both Qantas and Rex Airlines fly into the Devonport Airport.

Burnie Airport, located at Wynyard to the west of Latrobe, is 45 minutes away and serviced by Rex Airlines, Sharp Airlines and Qantas.

Launceston Airport is an hour's drive to the east of Latrobe and operates frequent services to Tasmania by Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia.

Hobart Airport is the other end of Tasmania and is typically only three hours away (roadwork dependent).

Car hire is available at all airports.
